Time To Go Home

Time To Go Home

The ship docked around 6:00 AM.

We had breakfast and said are goodbyes to Bobby and Marianne. They were not planning on claiming anything in customs, so they had the option to take their luggage and head for the car and get out of Mobile. Tommy & Toni on the other hand had went over the limit of alcohol and was going to have to pay some taxes... Each person can take 1 Liter tax free.

Tommy got one bottle of Cabo Wabo Tequila, 750 ml worth, while Toni got three bottles of assorted drinks to herself totaling 3 Liters.

The crowds to get off the boat were long for Bobby and Marianne, but they finally made it off the boat and were headed home. Tommy and Toni got off about an hour or so later with no crowds... even customs waved us through without us paying our taxes. I think they were in a hurry to get out also.

Most of the Gulf Coast were being evacuated because of Hurricane Dennis. When we got out on I-65 to head North, the South bound lanes were closed to Montgomery. The North bound lanes started to get backed up, and about that point, they opened the South bound lanes for North traffic. We got to drive on the wrong side of I-65 (Driving North on the South bound lanes).

We actually ended up passing Bobby and Marianne (they had stopped and got gas) and beating them home. When we got home, we had a "Welcome Home Tommy And Toni" sign over our TV that our friends put up for us.

It was great to be home.
