En route from the ship in Seward to Anchorage, add a visit to spectacular Portage Glacier, traveling the scenic Seward Highway while your driver/guide describes the sights along the way. Then board the MV Ptarmigan and cruise within 300 yards of Portage Glacier, choosing a seat in the enclosed lounge or on the open-air observation deck. From either vantagepoint, you’ll have fantastic views of the blue-white icebergs that decorate Portage Lake. Nature willing, you may also witness the carving of an iceberg from the face of the glacier. The tour continues along Turnagain Arm and Cook Inlet into Anchorage, where the tour ends.
