White Pass Rail Summit Excursion & Trip To Liarsville

There is no railroad quite like the White Pass & Yukon Route Railroad. Against all odds, this iron trail was born because of the 1898 Klondike gold rush and built through some of the most rugged and spectacular terrain. Almost 100 years later, this narrow gauge railway is still in operation. Ride aboard an old-fashioned parlor car retracing the original route to the summit of White Pass. As you leave Skagway behind, the Alaskan Wilderness unfolds outside your window as you climb this steep grade past the Bridal Veil Falls, Inspiration Point, and Dead Horse Gulch. After reaching the White Pass Summit, the international boundary between the U.S. and Canada, you’ll return along the same route back to Skagway and the ship.

Liarsville, the Gold Rush Trail Camp, located on the outskirts of Skagway next to spectacular waterfalls. walk over to the world-famous Hippodrome, where a cast of sourdoughs and dance hall girls dazzle you with a hilarious melodrama, recite Robert Service poetry, and teach you the art of gold panning. You are guaranteed to find gold in every pan! Afterward, wander through the bathhouse, saloon, bordello, and laundry tents, and discover the antiques and vintage clothing left behind by the miners and ladies of the evening. Whether you are shopping in the rustic Liarsville General Store, taking pictures, or shaking hands with the camp’s huge lovable Mackenzie River Husky, your visit to the Gold Rush Trail Camp will be an experience you will never forget.

Approximately 4 hours.
